First, let’s set the stage. ‘Kami-sama no Volley,’ or ‘God’s Volleyball,’ stands out in the realm of sports manga. Unlike typical stories focusing on sheer power or incredible jumps, this manga, created by Tsuruya Watanabe and Taisei Nishizaki, revolves around an unconventional hero – a brilliant volleyball analyst, Soichi Azuki.
Azuki, known for his strategic harassment in gameplay, is a genius at exploiting opponents’ weaknesses. The story begins with him accepting a challenging proposition: Turn a perennially losing middle school team into national champions, and earn a shot at coaching the Japanese national team.
